Boneclaw stood at the beach, watching the waves. He took a long breath, then turned around, waiting for Silentpaw. He sat down in the sand, enjoying the warm sun. His white fur was shining, as his green eyes shifted around, looking for the young toms pelt.

Boneclaw training Silentpaw Empty Re: Boneclaw training Silentpaw

Post by Purestar Sat Mar 29, 2014 12:08 am

The young calico tom emerged from the edge and ran towards his mentor. The tom had an elegant stride that was smooth, the tom also had a strong build and large paws and claws that would help in battle. When he reached his mentor he made an enormous leap that tackled his mentor over, though he didnt make a sound, he looked like if he could he would be purring. The toms bright green eyes were filled with impatience as if his energy where to burst out of him and come alive. He circled his mentor fast as if saying 'what first! what first!'

Boneclaw chuckled, getting back up as his apprentice circled him. His energy made Boneclaw happy. At least he wouldn't be lazy. "Since you seem so, energetic, let's start with some fighting moves. First, how about the front paw blow. Bring your paw down on your opponents head..." He said, bring his front paw done on the air. "Like this. Now you try on me." He said, watching Silentpaw carefully.

The newly named mute apprentice watched the attack carefully with precise interest. When he was ordered to try it his tail curled and he crouched down, swiping his paw right on Boneclaws head perfectly. He then tilted his head as if to say 'did i do good?'

Boneclaw shook his head, clearing the the stars from his eyes. "Good job. That is used to daze your opponents so you can get a good move in. Now we are going to learn a defensive move, ok?" He said. "Try front paw blow again, ok?" He said.

Boneclaw training Silentpaw Empty Re: Boneclaw training Silentpaw

Post by Waterpool Tue Apr 01, 2014 1:52 pm

Boneclaw already knew what his apprentice was going to do, and he knew what he was going to do, so he quickly ducked, twisted, rolled on his back, and sprung to his feet, performing the duck and twist. He looked back to his apprentice. "That's the duck and twist. It's a good defensive move. Now it is your turn. Ready?" Boneclaw didn't wait for an answer. He quickly swung his paw at Silentpaw's head, waiting for him to perform the duck and twist. Or at least try.

The apprentice had watched his mentor carefully, noting each movement his mentor made. When Boneclaw swung a paw at him he ducked backwards, twisted quickly and rolled onto his back, to leap back onto his his and swipe back counter-attacking. His paw landed a blow on Boneclaws forearm, knocking it back but not hurting him.

Boneclaw watched as Silentpaw performed the move perfectly, even adding his own touch at the end. He shook his leg to remove the pain, purring. "Very nice. Now, do you want to keep to doing battle moves, or would you like to begin hunting?" He asked.

Boneclaw took his tail from the apprentices paws. "Hunting it is. Let's practice the hunting crouch a bit. Remember, soft paws and keep your tail still and down." He said. The tom then pushed himself down to the ground, his tail down, as he took silent steps towards Silentpaw. His tail was still, his ears perked, as each fluffy white paw was placed on the sand. He made almost no noise on the sand, then he stepped on a stick, making a crunching noise. He sighed, standing up. "That's how not to avoid a stick..." He grumbled. "Im much better at fighting. Ok, now you try." He said, waiting for Silentpaw to try.

The tom nodded wearily and crouched down his tail low and his ears perked. His paws were naturally padded and plush so he was always quiet. He stalked forward in a stealth-like manner avoiding twigs and other things that would interrupt his quiet maneuvers.

Boneclaw purred, approving of his hunting crouch. "Very good. Now, let's go catch some prey." He said, heading towards the trees, then stopped once he was within the pines. He looked back, waiting for the smaller tom.

The tom took in a long breath through his open jaws, trying to take in as much scents as he could. He caught the scent of a squirrel and a chipmunk so he nodded to his mentor. He heard rustling and instinctively crouched down, noting where the sound came from. He stalked quietly towards it his ears up and his tail low. He saw the russet body of a squirrel and narrowed his eyes in approval. When he was in range he took a towering leap claws unsheathed, the squirrel darted sideways but Silentpaw just snagged its tail and pulled it back. He snapped it into the air with the flick of a paw and slammed both paws on it when it fell back down. A loud snap was heard from the enormous blow exchanged from predator and prey, the squirrels neck had snapped like the stick Boneclaw had stepped on earlier. He hopped up and down excitedly the prey dangling from his jaws.

Boneclaw watched silently, his eyes flashing with approval at each thing done right. He smiled happily as Silentpaw caught his prey. "Well done! I certainly couldn't have done better!" He purred proudly. He smiled at Silentpaw with glee. "I'm very proud of you." He said, purring.

The mute tom's eyes widened in glee at his mentors approval. He wish he could speak, but he didnt know how to get used to it even if he could. He had lived his whole life mute, so he cant really miss what he never had. He had his nods and tail movements to speak for him. He flicked his tail to each corners of the clans borders as if trying to say 'where re the borders located?'

Boneclaw hardly got what Silentpaw signaled. He felt bad for the cat, but didn't say anything, as if to not hurt his feelings. "The borders, yes. Well, the Vultureclans border with Owlclan is over there, and Vultureclan is over there." He gestured with his tail to two different sides of the forest. "We can go on a border patrol later. Right now, let's finish hunting, ok?" He said, scenting the air again.

(x3 you were close!! Vultureclan shares a border with Eagleclan and Owlclan)

Silentpaw nodded and glanced to the borders in curiosity. He suddenly heard a snap that no cat but the mute tom could hear. His loss of speech made up for the way he had extremely acute hearing, sight, and scent. He bolted around to face the sound his eyes wide. His tail lifted in a gesture that meant 'Danger!'. He made a low sound deep from his throat that sounded even more threatening than a normal growl. That was the only sound he really could make, which was good when it came to fighting. Suddenly the growl was returned, but it was like no other cat snarl. A loud beastly rumble came towards that area and made Silentpaw's amber orbs to widen in horror. A giant tawny shape leaped from the bushes letting out a banshee-like screech and landed with a loud thump from its huge paws. A giant paw flashed out at Silentpaw before there was time to react, the paw slammed against the smaller calico colored tom's side. It knocked the breath from him and knocked him off his paws sending him soaring and slamming against the side of a tree. His vision blurred and then everything suddenly went black.

Boneclaw watched his apprentice with curiosity, then saw the danger sign. Instantly, his fur bristled, looking for what had set off Silentpaws alarm. He looked at his apprentice as the growl came from him, surprising Boneclaw. Then he saw the tawny pelt of the giant cat, and the young toms fear scent. "SILENTPAW!" He yelled as the cat was flung into the tree. He wanted to run to the cats side, but the only way to get rid of the threat was to get rid of the giant cat. With the rage from Silentpaw being harmed, the white cat performing the leap and hold, jumping on to the cougars back. He then ran his claws down its back, gripping by biting its scruff. He continued trying to scratch it over and over.

Boneclaw let out a choke as he felt the bark on his back. He fell, to the ground, lucky nothing was broken. But his air was gone, as he struggled to get it back. It took a moment, but finally his lungs cooperated. He took a deep breath, turning to face the couger again. He snarled at it, flexing his claws. "Back... Off... My... Apprentice!" He hissed, not sure if it understood. His tail lashed violently, then he darted underneath the couger. He twisted when he got to the other side, nipping at the creatures ankles, also tearing his claws into its legs.

The cougar slightly flinched and turned lashing giant claws. His claws met the smaller white cats shoulder tearing through deep muscle and flesh easily. Blood gushed from where he struck, coating his paw in scarlet. He let out a yowl of satisfaction, and clamped his jaws around the cats small white body. He lifted him from the ground and shook. He tore through bone and flesh with each violent shake.

(Oh noes! Boneclaw, don't die!)
Boneclaw screeched and spit as pain tore through his smaller, white body. His vision started to go black, but he knew what to do. He let his body go limp, pretending to either have passed out or have died so the big cat would stop shaking him.
