Nursery for kits

"Why did she die? Where'd she go?" He asked more softly as he rubbed himself under her chin. He felt bad for making her answer his question so he attempted to try and comfort his mother.

"She wasnt born yet when i died and lost a life..She didnt get air into her lungs fast enough. She went to Starclan, with our anscestors that watch over us everyday, Jumpkit" she said and smiled as her kit comforted her. She didnt blame him, he deserved to know.

"Oh... I hope she's having fun cause she's lucky to see StarClan... Who ever they are." he smiled softly as he sat down batting at his sisters tail.

"They are our warrior anscestors, good cats who have died. They help us when we are in danger and care about us" she said, explaining who Starclan was to the little kit.

QuickKit mewed sadly, "I hope she's happy, there..." Then she lifted her head in amazement. "So a bunch of dead cats are watching us right now?" She meowed. "Cool! But how can they help us if they're dead?"

"They use the power of will, if we truly want help, they will help" she responded with a smile. She remembered teaching this to her first kit, Icebreeze. oh, i should probably have them introduced! she thought "You two have an older sister, her name is Icebreeze. She was apart of my first litter when two of the kits in it died... Stripedkit and Sparrowkit werent strong enough when they were born.. You would've loved them" she said recalling old memories of the past when she was deputy and had kits. "That was a looong time ago, young ones" she laughed.

"Ooo! What's she like?" Jumpkit bounced around as he let out a loud purr as he jumped on top his sister, nomming her ear.

"Shes silver white white stripes and has icy blue eyes" Purestar purred "Gingerkit was a dark orange shekit with a white chest. Stripedkit was a pale brown tomkit with black stripes. Sparrowkit was pale brown with darker brown stripes" she said, describing her family.

"But your silver, how was Gingerkit and Strippedkit as well Sparrow kit brown?" The little tom asked before adding, "and Quickkit and me are silver? How come," he mewed softly as he waited for a reply.

QuickKit nodded. "Yeah! I'm gray, orange, and cream! And JumpKit is gray! Why?" She meowed, looking up at her mother with her yellowy - green eyes.

"Well, your father was gray orange white and cream.. Icebreeze, Stripedkit, and Sparrowkit's father was brown with dark tabby brown stripes. Jumpkit got his curled ears from his father and my silver pelt from me. You have my mother's eyes Jumpkit. Quickkit got my ears that have tufts on the tips, and my uncle's caledon eyes" she explained her tail sweeping over the ground, back and forth.

"wait why do me and IceBreeze have different fathers?" Jumpkit looked at his mother with wide pools of emerald green.

"I was deputy at the time... Eaglestar had confessed that he loved me and when i thought about it, i loved him too. I do not regret my descision, Jumpkit, i love Icebreeze just as i love you." she said "Your father... I did not love, it was what i would call a 'mistake'. I did not plan of having you guys, but im glad i did" she said curling her tail around them.

The stone grey apprentice had heard he story through the den wall but he refused to say he did, the only cat in the clan he could really call his family was Hollowsoul, but he was just his mentor. Rushingpaw had appeared in the clan just as a meowing kittypet that wandered into camp. Now, he was one of the strongest and apprentice and by far a excellent fighter. His deep ocean blue depths would trail to PUrestar and her kits as he padded over, laying a plump fat squirrel beside her and turning around, about to leave again without a word-

"Thank you, Rushingpaw" she said in a grateful tone before turning her head down towards her kits.

"Your welcome Purestar..."-he said softly as he was padding out. The nursery was no place for an apprentice but he would stop and turn around towrd her and the kits and smile-"I never even found out your kits names."-he said fastly before he padded back over and sat down beside purestar and looked at them, his eyes fixated on them-

"Oh!" she said putting a paw on her forehead "I forgot" she laughed before pointing her tail to a pale silver tabby tom with stone gray stripes, curled ears, emerald green eyes. "Thats Jumpkit!" she purred before flicking her tail to the remaining kit. It had a multi-colored pelt like her father, and tufts at the tips of her ears like her mother, and her father and uncles caledon eyes. "And that's Quickkit!" she purred.

"They are very Beautiful, and handsome for the tom."-he said glancing at Jumpkit, he had similer pelt marking himself but he had his own features that made them so similer but even more different. Rushingpaw had deep light ocean blue eyes, a stone grey pelt with a black overcoat in a straight line with little streaks going down his pelt from his tail tip to his forhead, he even had some forhead black hair covering one eye.-"Will I be a warrior by the time there apprentices?"

"About that time, yes. I dont do certain times when making apprentices warriors. I make them warriors when their mentor says they're ready" she mewoed "Oh and thank you, Gingerkit looked just like Blazespirit... But she had my blue eyes" she sighed with a smile.

"I remember gingerkit, I never really knew Blazespirit but I heard nursery tales of how the fiery deputy used to be as a warrior. He was a legendary fighter until his age got to him. I heard he took on a whole patrol to save his friend. I forgot her nae though..."-he said softly laying his head on his paws-

"I dont think i remember either, but he raised me when i was a kit. Hes the only family i had before i had Icebreeze, Stripedkit, and Sparrowkit. Of course Stripedkit and Sparrowkit died... But at least i had Icebreeeze" she sighed and smiled "But now i have these two, and im happy for that" she laughed, wrapping her bushy tail around the kits.

"I can only guess how you feel for those kits. If Froststorm was still here, i'd beat him and show him what Hollowsoul has been teaching me. I never knew battle training could aslo improve my speed."-he said with a smile-

"I would not wish violence on him, but i never loved him. He caught me in a moment where i was most vulnerable. Theres a difference between hating and just, not loving" she said.

"Of course Purestar..."-he said with a sigh, he felt something was going to happen but he just sat there for a few more moments before he spoke-"Purestar, I think something is going to happen soon. You know Hawkclan's deputy Ashpelt? He crossed the border yesterday, I didn't report it cause he was chasing prey and when he caught it he just skidded onto our territory. But, I caught him and moonhigh sniffing the bprder"

"What? Why would he do that?" she asked her head tilted and her eyes filled with surprise. "What would he want with Eagleclan?" she asked.
