Purestar's den

She sighed and padded into the cave den her tail swaying side to side. She saw her cozy wool and moss lined nest and lied down. She looked up and stared at the marble ceiling.

The elder warrior of the clan padded into his leaders den. His movements slow from his age. Though during hunts and battles he was just as good as any other warrior and sometimes as good as a speedy apprentice. He had something to discuss-"Purek-..."-he sighed and looked at her once again. The scar over his left eye a reminder of his bravery, the shoulder scar there since pure was a kit-"Purestar... I know you want me to move to the elders, but, I can't retire. This clan needs me."

"We have more warriors and apprentices. You've served the clan with bravery and loyalty. I just think its time you catch a break. You can still hunt, you just wont participate in battles. Its time you leave it to the younger cats to take care of the clan. Im asking this out of concern out of your health, i want you to give up the hard life of a warrior and let the clan take care of you, just as you've cared for us" she said calmly glancing at her aged uncle.

The golden furred warrior blinked softly at her and he sighs bowing his head-"I wish to continue to serve my clan as I used to. I can withstand a few more battles. Besides, my life is not finished. Being a warrior is important to me."-in his head he secretly thought. He couldn't believe he was about to ask this.-"Would I have made a good father?"-he asked her as he looked down, blinking his eyes shut, waiting for an answer-

"I never really new my real father, i consider you as my father even though your my uncle. You WERE a great father. And you are a great deputy" she smiled her blue gaze soft. "Some times i wonder if i was a good mother" she murmered glancing down towards her paws. "Sparrowkit and Stripedkit died.. as you know.. and its my fault. I loved my leader, a vicious tom that was killed by his anger.. And Starclan made me pay the price" she whispered "Now its just me and Icebreeze" she glanced up towards the tom.

"Your father was a good cat, a good friend, the best brother. I was baffled by why he gave me a meowing she-kit and told me to take her back with me to the clans, but now"-he glances back up at her and pads forward, licking her ear and smiles softly, shutting his eyes with the smile-"I'm glad he did. Though I never got to feel the true feeling that I had always hoped would happen, I am happy that I could care for my brother's daughter. Icebreeze turned out just fine. We were all shocked by the passing of stripedkit and sparrowkit."-he said softly still looking at her, tears stung his eyes-

"When it comes to us, as clan cats, you make two choices. Devote everything you have to your clan, or half of your loyalty to a mate and the other half to your children. I was young and mouse-brained when i fell in love with Eaglestar. I was his deputy, and it was wrong of me to be his mate" she said quietly. "My choice should've been to my clan, because when your worrying about kits how can you defend your clan?" she murmered then shook her head "Blazespirit i understand you wanted kits, but the clan needs you, i need you. What choice do you want to make?"

The broad shoulder deputy looked at his niece with a sense of regret from his past, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes before opening them once again-"My choice is to stay as deputy. An old cat like me could never find one to love. My duty is to my clan, and to you."-he bowed his head to his leader, his friend, his family. The tears gone. He turned his back to her and was about to leave.-

"That's a noble decision Blazespirit" she smiled and when she saw him about to leave she meowed "Oh, and I'd like to have two hunting parties to go out. And the borders scent marked, can you arrange that?" She asked her eyes deep in thought.

The deputy turned his gaze to his leader and bowed his head-"I shall arrange them at once."-he spoke softly as he did. Yet, the power still stayed in his voice-

"Thank you Blazespirit. I will go hunting later with Brindlestorm" when she spoke about the experienced tom her voice quivered and a small smile spread across her muzzle.

The deputy nodded his head before he head from her den, his head held as high as he could hold it as he exited-

Leaders den?)

"Ok" she purrs and lies next to him her back pressed against his stomach. She curls up her white chin resting on her petite white paws.

The lithe warrior curls around her and purrs softly as he lays is chin beside her head-"What happened to dad?"

"Oh... He's just... Old" she said as she licked his cheek.

he smiled softly as he purrs in his throat witch sounded like a rumble. His breathing was soft as his whole body heaved up and down-

She touched her nose to his, smiling. She curled closer in the curve of his body, and rested her head on his paws.

He does the same and lays down on his paws. His body curved to fit the lining of the nest.-

She let out a soft peaceful sigh her eyes bright.
