The Marsh (hunting)

Foldedleaf walked out onto the marsh and waited for Silentsong as he scanned the area for and useful herbs.

Silentsong padded after Foldedleaf and waited to be instructed to do something. He stood there politely.

"I need marigold if you can find some, horsetail, nettle, watermint, and thyme. Cobwebs are always good if you happen to run into them. I want you to collect the watermint and horsetail. Do you know what they look like?" Foldedleaf was trying to keep all of his questions yes or no so it would be easier for Silentsong to respond. He waited for a nod or shake of the head.

Silentsong shook his head, im not a medicine cat... he thought but didnt, and couldnt, say anything so he didnt sound, or look, rude.

"Okay, well horsetail like to grow in marsh type areas, so they shouldn't be to hard to find. They look like a big green bushy tail. Watermint likes streams so it shouldn't be to hard to find either. It has green leaves that are kind of fuzzy and pinkish purple buds.. got it?" Foldedleaf asked then waited for his nod or whatever.

Silentsong gave an uncertain nod, understanding but yet no understanding. He looked around and headed most of all near one of the hundred minni streams that flow through their territory.

Once Silentsong had headed off to look for the herbs Foldedleaf began looking for the others. First on the list, some Marigold. He began looking for some kind of clearing that it would grow in.

Silentsong picked the stems of the two kinds of herbs, getting used to their scent very quickly and efficiantly.

After some searching he finally found it, a large patch of the stuff. Foldedleaf nipped of a few stems of it, mot as much as he could carry, no, he needed more room for the other herbs too. he made a mental note of where the patch was and began looking for nettle.

Silentsong carried as much as he could of the two herbs he was assigned to collect. He padded over to Foldedleaf the herbs in his mouth.

Foldedleaf inspected what Silentsong was carrying "Good." he said through a mouthfull of stems. "Now if you'd like you can go back to camp and put those in my den, if not you can follow me or go hunting. If you want to go hunting you can set those down and I'll show you where I hide them so you can come back for them." he knew Silentsong couldn't tell him what he wanted to do, but it was simple really. Head back to camp, set the herbs down, or do nothing at all.

He nodded to the forest around him then flicked his tail to a bird calling from a high tree. He wanted to hunt.

Foldedleaf dipped his head and trotted over to a tree, he parted a space between two rosebushes and sat his herbs there, he kept it parted. "Put them right here and when you come to get them try not to get caught on the thorns."

Silentsong dropped his herbs in there and dipped his head to the medicine cat before scenting the air for prey.

Once Silentsong had gotten his head out from between the bushes Foldedleaf let them close back together, protecting them from any animal that might snack on them. He then scented the air, but not for prey, for herbs. He ran towards a stream and found a patch of nettle. He delicately nipped a few more stems and carried them back to his place before heading out for some thyme, the last part of his list other than some cobwebs.

A couple moments later, Silentsong had two thrushes, a watervole, and a sparrow between his jaws. He padded over to where the herbs where hiding and parted the bushes, setting his catches in there.

Cinder Fire walks into the marsh. She stops and waits for RavenStar to catch up.

The black queen followed close behind panting rather fast. "Ill hunt deeper in the marsh you take the more inland." she said before butting her black head into CinderFires tabby shoulder. She then walked off.

After snuffling around for a couple minutes Foldedleaf found some thyme, it wasn't as easy as the other's were to find. He grabbed some and walked over to a hollow tree. He reached inside and wrapped a wad of cobwebs around his leg. He stepped back and his paw landed on something sticky. He looked back at what he stepped on. Honeycomb! Oh this was delightful! He picked up as much as he could and carried it back to the bush.

Cinder Fire nods her head and smiles at her leader. She walks to the inland part of the marsh.

Silentsong accidently crashed into Cinderfire on his way back to the rosebushes.

Once Foldedleaf reached the bushes he parted them and grabbed as many herbs as he could carry before heading back to camp. Waving his tail at Ravenstar as he passed.
-I'm going back to Le Camp-

The sudden crash between Cinderfire and Silentsong surprised him. He let out a loud thundering growl until he realized it was Cinderfire. He got up and shook out his pelt in embaressment.

RavenStar bounded into the marsh as she in hailed a deep gulp of air, "ah! Just like home," she smiled as she looked back to see if her warrior was coming.

Cinder Fire while she follows RavenStar, Silentsong crashed into her. She smiles at him and licks her ear before she runs to catch up to her leader. She smiles again when her leader speaks.
