The Marsh (hunting)

"Okay let's have a friendly competition. See who hunts the most prey wins!" the she cat purred before she walked around scenting for prey.

"Okay, bring it on!" Cinder Fire dashes away in a couple of seconds. She runs deeper into the marsh.

Raven chuckled to herself as she stalked a water vole. After a good half an hour passed and Ravenstar had two mice, vole, three minnows and that's it. She yawned as she buried her prey, growling could be heard the queen turned in time to see the pelt of a cougar. Alarm flew its self in and out of the green pools the keeper contained. "CinderFire!" She yowled out as contractions started happening. The queen fell to the floor panting, the cougar roared as it's amber eyes landed on a black shape it stalked forward in a menacingly way.

Cinder Fire is focusing on catching a water vole until she hears a yowl from her leader. She turns her body to the direction of the sound and dashes towards it. She sees RavenStar and something else-- a cougar. Her hackles rises and she stands in front of her leader to protect her.

The tawny brute snarled at another cat. He jumped over some mud and trotted to his distant relatives. His eyes looked at the panting she cat licking his lips at the same time. The cat circled around them with a crazed hungry look in his eyes, foam and saliva spilling from his parted mouth. "Dont... Get bit... He's mad! Ouch!" the black cat panted harder, "Cinderfire there coming! Terrible day for us," she joked before she took a sharp intake of breath before yowling out in agony.

Cinder Fire looks at her leader with widened eyes. She blinks her eyes quickly and takes a breath. Her heart beats really fast and she fidgets. Oh no! This is bad!

LostPaw had a rabbit firmly clamped in her jaws and she bounded after the scent trail of the other VultureClan cats. Her eyes glittered with pride for her catch. But the look was replaced with fear as she scented another creature, the scent she discovered to belong to a cougar. With a whimper, she fearfully followed it, until she saw her mentor - and leader - laying on the ground. She then looked to CinderFire with fearful eyes. She stood frozen in place as she finally saw the cougar. The apprentice shivered in horror as she stared at the huge, tawny creature.

Cinder Fire looks at Lostpaw with widened eyes. "Lostpaw, go tell the others! RavenStar is in labor!" She then looks at the cougar.

LostPaw remained frozen for a few seconds, before she realized CinderFire was talking to her. Nodding quickly, the tuxedo raced off, running at a great speed with great agility.

RavenStar gasped to he self before moaning, the contractions turned from short to long and painful. Her green eyes managed to find Lostpaw, "Bring Foldedleaf-" she gasped as she push taking a deep breath did she continue on to what she was going to say, " SootBlaze and more warriors, now, go!" She said to Lostpaw, just at that time the first kit came.

The cougar roared and attacked The silver tabby that seemed to be protecting the plump screaching one. He took a swipe at the she cat, he was thirsty- thirsty for blood.

Cinder Fire falls on her side and quickly gets up. She hissed at the cougar. She runs behind it and bites its tail hard. She then runs deeper into the forest and tries to lead the cougar away from her leader.

The cougar yowled out in outrage he followed the she cat but gave in to the sitting duck. He snarled as raven howled in fear. She tried getting up but couldn't as she started to push the pain was excruciating. Though she never kitted before she knew this wasn't suppose to happen. She tried defending herself against the cougar but the odds where facing the cougar.

(Ravens gonna lose a life once the patrol comes)

LostPaw dashed to her mentor's side. She turned around and faced the cougar, hissing in rage, no matter how afraid she was. Her back was arched and her fur was fluffed. She was a kit compared to the large cougar, however, and LostPaw prayed to StarClan that the rest of the patrol was coming. "I got the others," She panted to her mentor, before continuing to snarl at the cougar.

"Good..." RavenStar said as blood pooled around her. Three kits laid helplessly around her back paws. The black she cats breathing slowed as she twitched. The red liquid was fully covering her body besides her head. She took in a gagging breath of air as she choked on her blood, it was every where coming out of her nose and mouth. One last breath and she was gone, eyes open, looking at nothing.

Foldedleaf dashed to Ravenstar, only to find that he was too late. He checked her pulse and confirmed that she was losing a life. Almost completely crushing him with grief. 'My first emergency and I didn't even make it in time to save my leader..' he thought to himself. He set the herbs down beside him and licked the blood of the kits before curling his bushy tail around them to keep them warm as he sat beside Ravenstar. If things got bad he would be here to heal and protect his leader and her kits at any cost. He grabbed her scruff and pulled her until she lay under a bush he kept his herbs and the kits beside him at all times.

LostPaw continued to hiss at the cougar bravely, trying to lure it away from the healer and her leader and the kits. "Come at me! You want me!" She hissed, waiting for the rest of the patrol.
(Maybe the cougar bites her paw and ends up twisting it, so that characteristic will give her the warrior name "LostStep" or something? None of my characters had any encounters/fights with the cougar until now... so... (ಠ ›ಠ) Yea...)

The cougar has rabies xD

ಠ_ಠ Nvm. I don't want Losty running around with a foamy mouth trying to bite others. Maybe the cougar can pin her by the leg instead, or crush it or something? And then Soot or someone gets distracts the cougar before it bites her?

Sootblaze ran up to his mate an crouched down "Ravenstar?" he whispered touching his nose to hers, he didnt care if she was bloody. No matter what he would always be there to comfort her. "Hey its ok, your fine, your going to be ok" he said putting a paw underneith her neck and lifint her head up "Come on wake up, come back to us Ravenstar" he murmered staying close to her. "Our kits are here waiting for you..." he whispered pressing his forehead to hers.

LostPaw continued to hiss and snarl at the cougar. "Come at me, you foul beast! You don't want them! You want a challenge!" She spat, willing to risk her life to save the kits and her leader.

"Keep an eye on her, i have to go help Lostpaw!" he called to Foldedleaf. "Ill be right back ok..?" he murmered to her before setting her head down carefully. He looked at the small kits to make sure they were ok. "Please care for them and her while go help Lostpaw" he spoke to Foldedleaf in a worried msnner before bounding over to the cougar. He lunged and sank his teeth into the back of its neck and dug his claws into the cougar's short, tawny-colored pelt.

LostPaw saw her chance to attack, and she leapt at the cougars face, keeping her hind legs away from its mouth, knowing it's condition. She proceeded to claw its eyes, hissing furiously.

He bit deeper, his teeth scraping against the large cat's spinal cord. It let out a screech and shook itself violently trying to rid itself of its attackers.

The cougar snarled loudly at the cat. He was enraged as his eyes blazed madness, he jumped over to the small cat before aiming a blow to her leg. He had a low gurgling growl in throat as he locked eyes with the tuxedo cat.

RavenStar took a sharp gasp of air she looked around bewildered by her mate, apprentice, medicine cat and cougar being here. Her green eyes grew huge, "where are they? The kits.." she sighed a relief at seeing the bundles of fur in Foldedleafs care, Raven looked at the tawny beast she laid sill as ever, playing dead. She didn't want to attract attention to herself or the kits.

The tawny cougar howled in mixed emotions he savagely clawed blinded by his punctured eye. He bucked and shook off the cats, before pinning the white and black. His teeth inches away from lost paws face.

LostPaw let out a cry as the cougar's powerful paw met her leg. A snap was heard, and she let out a pained yowl. Her eyes widened in fear as the long, sharp fangs were mouse - lengths from her horrified face. She could smell the creature's fowl breath as she squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the jaws to meet her throat, for the disease to spread to her body.
