The Medicine Den

SilverBrook lashed his tail and irritably grumbled under his breath, "I should've given her the thyme." He got to his paws before padding after IgnitingPaw and his twin.

"I wonder what made her do that?" he questioned Silverbrook.

AmberStar brings Shortpaw to the medicine cat's den. She licks her head a couple of times before she walks to Silverbrook. "Please take of her, I have something to take care of." She storms out of the medicine cat's den.

-HawkClan Entrance-

The small felines eyes were open, but she was motionless. She lied there limp her legs spread out, she was lying on her belly.

SilverBrook sniffed the cat before backing away and laying down. "I can't do anything until she wakes up." He meowed grumpily. "That cursed AshPelt... He broke her..." The silver tabby muttered, his eyes narrowing.

Shimmerheart nodded before she bean to sort out leaves, she watched the apprentice for a moments as she lay there before continuing to sort.

Shortpaw's eyes suddenly blinked. She took in a long breath as images flashed across her gaze. They replayed over and over. Blood splashing across the ground, herself falling limp, at the same time her claws tore out Ashpelt's stomach, his claws sliced out her throat. She clutched her head her claws unsheathing and diging into her skin. "Make it stop!" she cried. blood dripping from her claws. "MAKE IT STOP!!" she screamed as the visions became more vivid each time. She dug in her claws deeper out of stress and terror. She fell to her side, hyperventilating. Her quick breathing made her side rise and fall rapidly. A loud scream came from her muzzle, shrill and filled with agony, like someone was hurting her physically... Her eyes were wide and panicked. "I DONT WANT TO SEE IT ANYMORE!" she pleaded tears running down her cheeks.

SilverBrook leapt to his paws and grabbed the thyme. He walked over to ShortPaw and put them in front of her. "Eat these," He ordered, his minty eyes stern yet full of pity.

She swallows as she tried to slow her breathing down, but every attempt didnt work. Her pupils were small dots and her gaze flashed over with the same scene every time. She ate the herbs and laid there pitifully. Her breath still coming in fast gasps, making a wheezing sound. The same thing replayed over and over again and again. "Please make it stop..." she whispered.

Shimmerheart finished sorting the herbs then asked "Some poppy seeds may help.." she said, unsure of herself.

SilverBrook sighed. "All I can do is reduce your anxiety. I can't do anything for bad memories and nightmares. But you have to focus on having a good life and serving your Clan, not on these nightmares you are having. They're just bad thoughts..." He meowed sadly. He then looked at his sister. "They'll just make her tired and she'll fall asleep and will have those nightmares..." His eyes then widened. "ShortPaw, if you don't mind, could you tell me about your nightmares?" He asked worriedly.

"Before there is peace, mentor shall strike apprentice, and apprentice shall strike mentor. And their blood with bathe each other's pelts. But until then, blood will rain upon the clan and the cries of stolen kits will echo in everyones ears" she whispered. "Im in a clearing, and Ashpelt leaps at me. Everyone gasps almost in unison. I duck down, and reach my claws up, catching his chest and sliding down his stomach until the end of his body. But at the same time, his claws meet my throat, and slice through it so i cant breathe. We both hit the ground at the same time. I see a figure, tall and slender, with a starry iridescent pelt and pale yellow eyes. Suddenly theres a dark figure that rises up from Ashpelts body, the starry cat grabs the dark cat and drags him until they fade. It... hurts... I feel my blood pooling from my neck until my gaze fades out, then it starts over again" she whispered letting out a whimper her breath quick.

SilverBrook's eyes widened, and he shook his head in disbelief. "Those are some horrible nightmares..." He meowed, looking at his sister with horror filled eyes. 'StarClan, what do you plan to do with them?' The tabby wondered, his head lowering.

She clutched her head again and let out a high-pitched, blood curdling scream "STOP IT! STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT!" she repeated.

Shimmerheart nodded then sat beside the apprentice, stroking her flank with her tail in an attempt to camp her down or at least comfort her.

SilverBrook gulped and looked at his herb supply. "Maybe I could give her some lavender stem and then some poppy seeds..." He murmured, before gathering the herbs and pushing them towards the apprentice. "Eat these. They lavender will soothe your shock, and the poppy seeds will help you sleep. Maybe you won't have any nightmares." He meowed, before silently whispering, "If StarClan chooses to leave you in peace."

"Each time he strikes my throat i feel it" she whispered her pupils tiny dots."Its the worst pain you could feel" she said her voice shaking. She suddenly jerked her teeth clenching.

SilverBrook shook his head. "All I can do is give you herbs and hope they go away. I can't do anything else." He meowed, before lowering his head, dreading the nightmares the apprentice is getting. 'But they're not nightmares...' He thought, his minty eyes darkening.

She nodded and squeezed her eyes shut, after a little bit suddenly her head lifted up. "I know who dragged the dark spirit away!" she gasped her hazel eyes widening in realization.

Briarpaw walks inside of Silverbrook's den. She slowly walks to Shortpaw. She gives her a rabbit that she got from the fresh kill pile.

The small apprentice was shaking, making small whimpering sounds from where she laid, her muzzle in her paws. "It won't stop.." she repeated over and over again.

Briarpaw looks at her friend in confusion. "What won't stop...?" She sits down by her friend and perks her ears. She waits for Shortpaw's response.

"The visions... Over and over again.." her voice cracked and had a whimper to it.

"What visions?" Briarpaw asks in confusion. She stands up and flicks her tail. What's going on???

She didn't say anything, and continued to whimper "Make it stop... Please make it stop...!" she whimpered over and over again her pupils tiny dots.
